Why do the Results differ from your reports?
There are several possible explanations * you used a different search word * you looked past the first 20 results (top-ten.com only report the position if it is found within the first 20) * your report was done at a different time, the indexes of the search engines change almost constantly * your results top-ten.com pulled from a mirror site that was not in sync with it's parent site.
Why can't I find my web site in the Search Engine?
Here again, there can be lots of reasons. Always remember, the robots that look at your web site will place your pages within their index based on how your pages appeal to them. For the most part, the placement will be based on how the content and structure appeal to the robots.
Why do I show up in only 1 or 2 Search Engines?
The robots are programmed by subjective human beings. These folks tell their robots what to look for when it views your page. Since each search engine has it's own staff of programmers each of the robots look for different things. In short, you can't make one page appeal to all the search engines because they all look for different things.
